The LaGrange Patriots is a citizen-led, grass-roots organization based in LaGrange, Georgia.  We are committed to promoting and adhering to the core American vision of government established by our Founding Fathers. These values include limited government, states rights, fiscal restraint and individual freedom and responsibility.

Our Beliefs

We believe that over many decades, generations of Americans have been complacent and have not appropriately tended to civic responsibilities that are necessary to ensure their freedom and prosperity.  This inattention has resulted in continuously expanding government at all levels, coupled with an alarming erosion of individual liberty, freedom and opportunity.

We believe that to continue as a free and self-governed people, as a society, we must embrace the basic, elegant and profound ideas documented within The Constitution of The United States and within the Declaration of Independence.  We recognize these ideas as the keys to the greatness of our country with respect to individual freedom, prosperity and government that adheres to the rules of a constitutional republic instead of the dictates of men or women.

We believe that history shows a constant tendency for government to grow in a way that serves the interests of only those individuals who are part of, or connected to the government.  We see, within the vision of The Founders a design of government that, if adhered to, includes protections against the growth of tyranny.  We see, within the intent of The Founders, mechanisms designed specifically to limit the powers of government in order that citizens will be protected from various levels of tyranny.

We believe, that to remain a free people, individuals must recognize the need for strict limitations upon the encroachment of government into their own affairs and into the affairs of others.  We should firmly embrace the role of individuals in the pursuit of their own happiness.  We should loudly reject the corrupt and destructive notion that the purpose of government is to act as the decider and distributor of wealth.  For someone to truly have the freedom to succeed, they must also have the freedom to fail.  Any other arrangement is the design for poverty, tyranny and nation failure.
